Hop into your time machine and travel back to the sunset years of the studio system, when films were created on big lots starring studio contract players, directed by studio directors. • Immortal Defense

In these last few days of 2009, Radical Poesis is offering a "Pay What You Want" sale of their kinda sorta casual tower defense game, Immortal Defense. Pay $1, $5, $65, it's your choice. Designer Paul Eres frequently loans to 3rd world businesses using the popular charity kiva.org, so show him some love and check out his story-driven abstract tower defense game.

Goo (or is it water?) needs to get from point A to point B in Aqualux from Milkman Games. Swap pipe segments to keep the aqua flowing in this 100 level Windows puzzle/logic game. Strangely (and unfortunately) the aqua doesn't seem to spill from the pipes or behave realistically as a fluid... so you don't need a sealed system of ducts like in classic Pipes games. An online browser-based demo is available.
  • Christmas Eve Crisis
    Dec 5, 2009
Help Santa deliver presents in Christmas Eve Crisis from InterAction Studios. This very polished free platform game (for Windows, Mac, or Linux) follows Santa's adventures after a sleigh mishap scatters presents across the land. Search for Christmas ornaments and secret areas for bonus points. The fallen presents have landed sort of near the houses where they need to go, but Santa will have to collect and deliver them the final short distance before dawn breaks.
  • Santa’s Workshop
    Dec 1, 2009
Another Christmas game has come in out of the cold for a hot mug of cocoa. Santa's Workshop, from GetPerplexed Games, finds you pushing presents around the cramped rooms of Santa's workshop. This super-cute Sokoban variant features 96 seasonal levels. (And if you purchase before December 15th you'll receive a 25% discount.)

Casual Games!

Casual games don't require you to memorize pages and pages of instructions. They're just fun games, often with simple rules and themes. Good examples are hidden object games or match-3 games. Or games about cats.

At Casual Explosion, each game gets a review rating based on 3 scores: CASUAL, EXPLOSION, and VALUE.
