Azada, from Big Fish Games, is what you might get if a giant walking magic puzzle strolled into your living room and exploded! And then you scooped up all the puzzle minigame bits, pressed them like wildflowers onto ninety pages, and finally crammed all the pages, puzzles, and your big-eared best friend Titus into a book. In short, it's a collection of puzzles. (And Titus.) If you're familiar with the popular "escape the room" or "point and click" Flash puzzles that fill the internet, you'll know what to expect.
You awake in a strange room after being magically summoned by Titus. Trapped in the enchanted book, he needs your help to escape. The only way you can free him is to return all the missing pages to the binding and solve the puzzles inscribed on each sheet. There are ten chapters, and the puzzles get more and more difficult as you progress. As you finish each chapter, you learn more about how Titus got trapped in these puzzling pages. However, let's be honest, the whole scenario is really just a framework built to contain a boatload of ciphers, posers, and enigmas. So if you're a big puzzle fan, here's the game you've been waiting for.
What kind of puzzles will you face in Azada? All kinds, and all are timed. Each involves finding/unlocking a glowing green magic page somewhere within the puzzle before time runs out. The page might be inside a simple wooden box and all you have to do is slide around some panels to access it. Or maybe you're challenged to click on the only pair of matching butterflies in someone's dried up insect collection. (As an expert butterfly matcher, and champion of matching games like the addicting Jurassic Realm, my favorite casual game, I finished the butterfly puzzle in twenty-eight seconds. I bet you can't do better!) A few chapters even have match three games.
And I bet Big Fish Games tried to make the game without including that annoying Towers of Hanoi puzzle, but at the last minute some crazy bearded guy ran into the studio and slipped it into the mix. You can't make a puzzle collection without the Towers of Hanoi these days. Just like you can't make a chicken pot pie without corn.
The most memorable puzzles in Azada are variations on the "escape the room" variety of brain-teaser. A scene is presented to you and somewhere within is the glowing page from the book. You need to find it. You may be presented with a science lab, for example, with a microscope, a computer, a locker, a desk, a chalkboard, etc. Some of the objects in the room will shimmer with magic sparks when you pass the mouse pointer over them. Clicking on them allows you to interact with them. Also onscreen is your inventory. It's shown with cutouts depicting the objects you need to pick up to complete the puzzle. For example, a piece of chalk, a paperclip, a screwdriver, and a microscope eyepiece. Once you find these objects you can drag them onto other objects in your inventory or in the scene to try to solve the puzzle. But if your idea doesn't work (say you drag the microsoft eyepiece onto the chalkboard), you receive a time penalty. I suppose this is to stop you from dragging objects around all randomly in a panic.
Some puzzles can be skipped by using one of up to four magic purple orbs. And you can get hints while in the puzzle rooms, if you don't mind losing five minutes on your timer.
The biggest problem I had was telling what some of the objects in the puzzle rooms were. They aren't named, and the rooms don't exactly fill the screen, leaving everything kind of small and blurry. (Everything is kind of grungy in Azada.) It's hard to know how to use a tool if you don't know what it is, just like it's hard to drive to a small blurry Arby's restaurant. On the plus side, the game has lots of flashy particle effects. If you like multiple versions of pizazzy sparkles, you'll be thrilled.
The soundtrack of Azada is excellent. The orchestral score by Somatone Productions is packed with cinematic flourishes and really gets you in the mood to kick down puzzles and bust open conundrums.
You can go back and replay puzzles that you enjoyed, but unfortunately few are memorable enough to revisit. You'll keep playing just to see what the next brainteaser is, and maybe to hear the story of Titus. Sometimes you'll keep playing in determined frustration (like when you're trying to click on the coordinates in the library puzzle.)
If a mosquito flies up your nose and you can't get it out, go to the emergency room! That's a hint from me to you.
Hey I was wondering if you could help me. I am stuck on both the pipes puzzle, and the last puzzle in the third chapter. The one where you have to move the circles around to form the pictures, however you can only see one circle at a time. I have basically given up because I am so FRUSTRATED!!! However I would love to finnish the game, if you could help me that would be amazing!
Thanks so much
Megan

Donna
Has anyone finished the game then were told for the future to write down the code Magic Book? I was wondering if anyone knows how that code will be used? Is it possibly to unlock another game inside the azada that we have already played?
I have finished the game and I too am wondering about the code Magic Book. The final message says our expertise is still needed so I am thinking there is something more within this game. I have pressed the back arrow and replayed all the games and still nothing happens. Hope someone will figure this out.
I can not do the matchsticks.. could you please help!!
Hey Lindsay I found a site that has a hint and walkthrough for the matchsticks in Azada:
http://minutegamer.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/walkthrough-azada-matchstick-puzzles/
Just watch and you’ll smack your head on some of them. I’m stuck on the device in Chapter 8…. can someone help??? I don’t know the right way to program the machine to pick up the crystal. I’m trying the buttons but I guess there’s an order but I don’t know?
This game is fun I agree but also frustrating to beat.
thank you soo much Nicole!! I was really frustrated.. after seeing that I do feel silly! Also, i found a site that had a walkthrough for that device.. I cant remember what is was though.. try searching “hints for azada”
I hope someone can help me, I know it’s probably as obvious as the hair on my head, but the butterfly matching game has me stumped. There don’t seem to be any exact matches. Hint? Solution? Slap me upside my head?! Thanks in advance.
This game is so awesome…but I just can’t get passed the PIPES end of chapter 2…can someone please help! Thanks so much!
I cannot do the pipes either….can someone help. To get the crystal in the device, press the buttons one at a time to see what they all do with the claw arm. If I can remember, the first button moves it right the second button moves it down and the third button moves it to the drop chute. I think the way I did the code was press the first button to the left twice, press the button next to it three times, press the next to the last button once, the third button three times and then the last button on the right. Hope this helps.

i’m stuck in level one after doing all the chapters i’m trying to figure out the puzzle part to conitue to the next level, does anyone know the secence it’s suppose to fit into, i’m able to fit the pieces but nothign happens and the last piece is stuck so i’m assuming some sort of picture must be revealed to have it work right. does anyone know how to place the pieces. thx
As for the ‘Magic Book’ thing, I’m thinking that it’s not for this game, but for a sequel (as they said there’s more than one book!). Sooo, in the sequel or whatever, it’ll probably ask you if you have a special code, so the game knows you’ve beaten the first one too. ^_^
Chapter 3 the last puzzle with the curkels?can somone help me
in chapeter 2 i was wonderin if any 1 knows how to do that marble game???
I try to use the word “Magic Book” as a user name,it’s work, and “magic book” is not work. So,what it means?:)
I think if you use the name as “Magic Book”,all of the puzzle books will be useable when you finish the first chapter.
But it’s too late in China now,about 3:30AM. I won’t test it.
I’m sorry.what I said just then is wrong.the words “Magic Book” is not a special username.sorry again.
now,I agree with that it’s for a sequel.
I am in the Library and cannot get the coordinates on the stupid map to do anything. Can anyone help or does anyone have a suggestion?? In the marble game, you line up the marble to one box, then the next one that the marble will hit…it is relatively simple once you get the hang of it. On some of the puzzles, you actually go in a circle. For the matchstick game, I have been beating the computer by ALWAYs placing my stick right after the computers. If you can get over thirty boxes, you win no matter what.
On the pipes, the end pieces are a big help. I started working for the end backwards to make sure I have the right alignment
Jamie I’m stuck on the Library also……Can anyone help us???????? I click on the coordinates as it states and nothing happens is there a trick to it or what?
In the Library - make sure that if it says I40 and H53S (these are made up) that when you scroll around you are scrolling for 40 by 53S and not 40 by 53N. Hope that helps.
Thanks Gwen……. Mine says B-166 G18N Well I go to -166.0 then 18.2N….I can’t get the numbers without the dot 0 or dot 2….. 18 doesn’t have dot 0 could that be my problem? Also do you click on each cooridnate you to or click at the end of the second cooridnate…. This is making me so frustrated
when will the next game be out
Marbles!!! I thought that I was pretty evenly left-right brained, but I am literally losing my marbles. If anyone ended up with 3 instead of 4, please help. I have done this chapter so many times that I actually have 25 minutes left for these crazy marbles and still cannot get it.
Well has anyone tried Dream Chronicles yet?
http://games.gamesocks.com/Dream-Chronicles
It’s kinda the same as Azada and it will make you nuts too sometimes.
Please help me with the towers the one with 6 rings and three posts Im going nuts trying to figure it out,,,,anyone have it step by step would be awesome
Shorty, here’s a link to an explanation of the towers of Hannoi puzzle:
http://www.cut-the-knot.org/recurrence/hanoi.shtml
I’ve seen that puzzle in other games so I didn’t have any trouble but it’s really hard to explain in words so just follow that link and you can solve the puzzle by clicking on the “Suggest Move” button. Hope that helps! Not exactly a walkthrough but I’m sure with that hint you’ll be okay!
HELP!! I am also stuck on the end of Chapt 3 puzzle. The one to finishing part of the painting with the circles that you can only see one at a time. I’m clicking and the colors of the painting will show and they rotate, but, then not much else is happneing. Please advise. I would love to move on in the game!
Man…. I’m on chapter 8 and haven’t needed any help. Guess I’m just smart like that. But ALL, I reapeat, ALL people have a downfall. Mine just happens to come now. I need help on the scale, the one where you have to get the stones to match the weight of the golden idol.
I’ve just finished the game and was wondering if Magic Book was a new game.
Lynn just keep moving between the inner ring and the next, you will see the picture start to take shape. Then the rest are easy.
Sophie, Put the golden idol on the left scale and see how high the ball on the right scale goes, then work out which 2 stones make the ball the same height
Sophie…put the idol on the scale, see how much it weighs (notice the light under the opposite side. Then try a combo of the stones till you get the same weight, put the stones on the pillar that opens the last door and the idol on the other pillar, viola.
This game really sucked me in! I was upset to fnd the end, that wasnt worth the $$.I want more, and different puzzles too.
I agree Wolf, the puzzels were fun and sometimes challenging but it wasn’t worth the money. I hope they will add on to this game and give it to us for free. lol. Maybe via the magic book code. I was finished with the game in 2 days.
so magic book is not a user name- there must be more to this game- i have gone to the room to the left after freeing titus and the games are still locked- how do we unlock the 2nd book?? please help
Brilliant game, but sad to see it over so quickly. I think we all need to agree that the Magic Book access code should be an extention of this game. At least for the money we paid.
HELP!!
I GOT TILL THE TOWERS AND PAWNS AND AFTER THAT I CANT FIND THE MAGIC IN THE ROOM I KEEP PLAYING THE RANDOM TO SEE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS BUT NOTHING, WHAT SHOULD I DO
sorry I wrote in cap. letters
Anyone figure outwhat to do with the Magic Book code. I hope for the price this is not the end of the game it was over way too quickly for the money. If this is it the we shouldn’t haave paid more than $5.00!
I agree! There is no way this was woth $20! I had the entire puzzle solved in 24 hours. I have searched Big Fish and see no mention of a new “Magic Book” game and I’m not sure I would shell out another $20 for such a limited game.
Hey!!?? All of u people talkin about the “magic book’ etc…at the end of the game…can u help the rest of us coz we’re all stuck somewhere??!! Pls??!!
Me for example, i m stuck at the CLOCKWORK in chapter 10. I think i m doing everything right, putting the 2 clocks on 12h and the alarm clock on the right alarm time, and all in order that the paper says…AND NOTHING HAPPENS….!!! Except that first of the 4 lights on the box keeps turnig green on and OFF….??????!!!! Pls HEEEELLLLP!!!!!!!!! THX!!!!!!!
http://minutegamer.wordpress.com/2007/06/29/walkthrough-azada/
Ivona, look carefully at the Wake-Up Clock, it has its own time, set the clock to match the small dials, look carefully, and too bad we all spent 20 bucks for a single set of puzzles, BigFish we are, never again,, good bye SmallFish.
The coordinates stumped me for awhile too…. Example: -27 & 16N. Move the cursor to -27, DO NOT CLICK! Then slowly move the cursor up (North) until you see -27.16N. NOW CLICK.
Hi
I’m in chapter one in the library but I must solve the puzzel first and I dont know how, could you please help me??
The coordinates stumped me because I thought that was a period between the numbers, as in 140.50S but it is a comma! 140,50S. See, now that makes sense. The picture is too blurry to see the difference.
so if i’m reading this correctly there is no more puzzle books i to had all this sovled within two days so whats next what a ripoff
I’m stuck in the tomb…can someone help me out?
The dial on the front of the tomb keeps resetting despite the fact that I believe I’m correctly following the code found on the wall. I can’t seem to locate the other skull and can’t open the object in the back of the tomb. I’ve run out of time twice trying to figure this out…tuurning into a mummy myself.
Still stuck in the Balancing Act of chapter 9. Can’t figure out the combination lock. It makes no sense to me…. can somebody explain it, please ?¿?¿

HELP!! im another one stuck in the libary. This makes no sence to me and getting very cross! feel like putting the lighter to the map! of cousre that wont let me lol. i dont even know what the sequances stand for. Am i just plain dumb? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Sheila
Now that Big Fish Games uses that STUPID STUPID installer / download utility that always freezes up, my new favorite game download site is Game Socks:
http://www.gamesocks.com
If like me you’re constantly looking for new trial games to play, add that site to your bookmarks.
And it has cute talking socks, lol!!!
Ok, here is the final explanation for the library puzzle, Sheila. You only need to click one time for the set of coordinates. Find the first number on the map, and then move the mouse up or down to the second number and THEN click. So if you have -62 for the first number, go there but don’t click yet. Then if the second number is 2N you would move the mouse up (because N = North = up) to -62.2N then click.
THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED, IT COMES WITH ALOT OF TRICKS AND SECRETS, A LOT OF SEARCHING AND PUZZLES TO FIGURE OUT, I HAVE BEAT THE WHOLE GAME, LOVED IT AND WILL GET THE NEXT SEQUEL WHEN I COMES OUT, KEEP TRYING TO BEAT EACH LEVEL, WHAT A GREAT GAME.
On the library one I hade to redo it. But I did it again and it worked. Sometimes games are like that. I also believe Magic book is all the answers to Azada.I too agree that if azada Doesn’t have any more puzzles it isn’t worth the money.
I have gotten to the last puzzle. I have found the note on the desk, the little potion bottles and the bowl. I have somehow made the bowl glow green. I don’t know what I did or where to go from here to end the game. There is no reset, I am hoping someone can help me, I don’t want to start over.
Thanks Ashley, after I posted my request for help, I happened to read your posting and so I went back and redid the screen and it worked!. I have played this game over the past several months, a couple of levels at a time and it has been worth every pennie I paid for it. Hope to find other similar games. This was lots of fun!
Does anyone have an answer to the question previously asked? I repeat it here - The dial on the front of the tomb keeps resetting despite the fact that I believe I’m correctly following the code found on the wall. I can’t seem to locate the other skull and can’t open the object in the back of the tomb. I’ve run out of time twice trying to figure this out…tuurning into a mummy myself.
Does anyone have an answer to the question previously asked? I repeat it here - guess I won’t - It shows as a duplication. In the tomb - stuck - dial keeps resetting so the full code cannot be entered. Have one skull and the center of the dial. Opened the vertical tomb and placed the one skull. Have the code. Please help!
Pat, there is an hourglass at the end of the sarcaphogus (sp) Use it in conjunction with the dial accroding to the code.
i know you guys do not like the $20.00 price, i don’t either, but you should try their game club credits, the games are only $6.99 ea, to buy, and you set how many you want a month. Right now I have mine set on 1 per month, it gets charged on my card, 6.99 monthly, and I can change it or add 1 for a one time 6.99 fee, if I want an extra game to buy just that one time. so stop complaining and and stop buying at full price. I have been doing this for more than a year now!!! you should try it.
Well, some of use don’t use Big Fish Games because their install download utility is reported as malware spyware and seems suspicious. Plus it takes FOREVER to download!!!!
So I wait until Game Socks or another site like Iwin gets the game and download from there. Game Socks has started offering discounts and if you subscribe to their newsletter you get special secret deals (not $6.99, but 30% off any game and similar deals).
As zgirl said, the only way any of the Big Fish games are worth what you pay is if you purchase Game Club Credits. The games cost about $8 each, which is very affordable.
I don’t mind promising to buy more games from them in the future just to get the discount - they come it with a lot of nifty little games that, which the Game Club Credit make them very affordable.
I see Cake Mania and Diner Dash in the store for $20 and have to roll my eyes. They’re fun, but they’re not $20 fun. But if I go with the Game Club, they’re a reasonable price… and there are still other games available (and coming soon) that will be worth $8 instead.
Need help please…I’m sturck on Chapter 8 the device page. I was able to pick up the crystal but can’t seem to figure out how to drop it. What am I doing wrong or just not doing??
I have to be the biggest klutz ever, but can someone help me with “Final Approach” and Round and Round” in Chapter 4, please?
can someone please help me cant get passed the marbels thing where you only have to leave to marbels. i did the first one and when i do get it i only have at least 2 min left. not enough time to finish the capter. please someone help me.
I’m stuck in The Tombs. I put one skull in the scale. I’m using the dial on
the coffin, the hourglass and the code on the back wall. I put the dial on the first
symbol, turn the hourglass as indicated in the code - then the dial resets and a
message pops up saying “maybe something else needs to be done”. Help!!!
Johnnie
I got it!! Took a while and several tries but I finally figured out the additional step that needed to be taken. Phew!! I thought I was going to be stuck in the Tombs forever.
Johnnie
Well I feel like a total ditz! Try as I might, I can’t figure out the toy store in the first chapter. I am usually really good at these games and it might have something to do with the cloudy quality of the picture, but I’m pulling my hair out on this. HELP!!!
Angelika
I finished!! Some levels were quite a challenge. I had to do them over and over and over before finally beating the clock. The Pawns with 2 marbles left, the Squares, the Towers were the biggest challenges for me. The 1st Robot took me forever but once I got the hang of it the rest were fairly easy. Same with the Pipes. I struggled over the 1st one but once I did one the rest went fast. Wrote down the code at the end; so when is the sequel coming out?
bunny luv, all I can say is I did nothing but the marble game over and over again until I finally got it down to 2 and had enough time left to solve the other pages on that level. Trial and error. I was tempted to use an orb to skip that one but persistence finally paid off.
Onthisrock, have you tried using the hints - the brown ‘flag’. I admit to resorting to them more than once. Good luck.
I still cannot get the co-ordinates right. I click on them but nothing happens. I have tried everything!!
whitewave,
I found the coordinates to be backward from the normal order so make sure you have them in the correct order. My second problem was the same as yours, I’d click and click and nada. Every time you play the game, the coordinates change. I finally got a set that was in the middle of the map and when I clicked on them and it went through. I think there might be a glitch in the game if the coordinates are at any edge of the map. Good luck.
